1. You will live in one of the most powerful and well-governed countries on Earth
Okay, fine, this is perhaps not the most attractive reason to move to a particular place, and the government of Germany is not exempt from criticism. But living in such an efficient and organized place has positive things that are not always easy to see or understand.
They have an excellent recycling program, clean streets, reasonable expenses, little crime and are leaders in climate and energy policies. At least one third of Germany is currently powered by renewable energy.
The labor market is also very strong and wages are relatively high. If you can speak German or have an EU passport, jobs can often be easy to find, especially if you plan to stay in Germany for a while.

2. Historically significant and culturally diverse
Again, it's not the most attractive, right? "Historically significant". That's one of those great phrases because it means different things to different people. History is what you make of it and so on. But that is what is so great about Germany. So much has happened there. There really is something there for everyone.
Germany is sometimes known as the "land of poets and thinkers," or das land of dichter und denker. Goethe, Hesse, Nietzsche, Marx, Hegel, Beethoven, Bach and the Grimm brothers were all Germans. And those are only the first ones that come to mind. A place that produces so many great minds must have some hidden secret, right?
It also has more cultural hotspots than any other country. With 6,200 museums, 820 theaters, 130 professional orchestras, 8800 libraries and innumerable places of historical importance, there is much to absorb and learn here.
Also, soccer is incredible. And fashion. And music. And the food ... And the highways. You see? There is something for everyone.
3. Great place for foreign students
English is commonly spoken, and is frequently taught in German primary and secondary schools. It is estimated that around 56% of the population has English as a language. Which is quite useful if you're interested in learning English. And let's face it, that must be the whole world.
Germany has an excellent educational record. Every German city you can imagine has, at a minimum, a university ranked among the best in the world. There are 15 German universities in the 250 best in the world and 31 in the best 500. This establishes that Germany is among the elite of higher education in the world. Wherever you choose to study, you will find a first class institution.
It should also be noted that undergraduate courses are free, even for international students. Tuition fees are also quite low if you are interested in a master's degree, or a short course.
4. You will develop as a person
Germans have a reputation for being fast, efficient and calculating. It is also known that they have a very strong and contagious work ethic that will make you improve as a person and that will help not only in the workplace, but also in your personal life. You will gain these habits over time, simply by being in Germany.
5. It's great! Have not you heard how great Germany is?
Berlin is the fashionable capital of Europe, full of artists, musicians, students, backpackers, expats and other pioneers of all shapes and sizes. Leipzig has seen similar growth recently, with a thriving creative scene, lots of green space and a high quality of life. And coffees, do not forget it. Many and many coffees.
Since the early 1990s, Germany has had a kind of cultural explosion, with young people, and students in particular, at the forefront. Fashion business, street art and a new wave of fashion and design have made Germany one of the most popular places in Europe.
