Between 2011 and 2012 London has attracted 103,000 international students (The Guardian 2015) and while this figure fluctuates from year to year, 67,500 international students for 2013-2014 (The Guardian 2015) the British capital turns out to be the second destination of most popular studies, following the United States, from year to year.
Yet there are plenty of reasons why London pops up much more than the United States of America as a study destination, and here are five of the most compelling ones.

That said, for those who are lucky not to have to work this city has 4,779 restaurants (Hardens 2015), more than 2,000 movie theaters (TripAdvisor 2016), more than 7,000 pubs (the London Pub Crawl 2012) and some the most seductive entertainment complexes in the world. Oh, and if you really want the good old American fast food, you can have them in the 205 McDonalds in London alone (McDonalds 2015).
A city that provides a solid education and a great academic reputation
London paves the way for world-class education and although not as exciting as the cuisine that includes eel jelly, or attractions that include the creepy London Tower and the simple and mysterious wax works it is of course the real reason that can help define your future (plus, it's a great benefit for your resume). Do not forget that the English language comes from England (obviously), and so it seems fair that it is this culture that surrounds you while studying the language.
An unrivaled transportation network
With so much to see, do and discover, you'll be happy to know that London has one of the most efficient transportation networks in the world, helping you get from A to B, from Arsenal to Baker Street, quickly, cheaply and safely. Transportation options include the engineering masterpiece that is The London Underground; the iconic Black Cabs; the commendable motorbikes 'Boris'; bus-based buses that cover all the main roads and rickshaws that are increasingly popular (and controversial).
